Indeed Van Buuren has come a long way…In 2001, he started out as a radio DJ, hosting a show called State of Trance; where more than 37 million listeners were plugged-in weekly, in over 100 FM radio stations spanning 84 countries. The show was the springboard that propelled his stardom and amassed a worldwide interest in trance music. He was recently nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his single "This Is What It Feels Like" featuring Trevor Guthrie — a rare feat for DJs, making him only the fourth trance artist to receive a Grammy nomination. He also was the first trance artist in Dutch music history to have a number one chart-topping album in 2008. Van Buuren is one of the most respected DJs in the trance / EDM circle, thus it comes as no surprise that he is a crowd-drawer.
