Ghost is a prolific Swedish metal band known for their elaborate costumes and melodic vocals. The band, led by frontman and primary songwriter Tobias Forge, infuses several influences from various genres, including psychedelic rock, heavy metal, doom, and progressive rock. Ghost made their international breakthrough in 2013 when they released their sophomore album, Infestissumam. The highly-acclaimed record topped the chart in Sweden and entered the Billboard 200, peaking at number 28. The album, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, spawned singles “Secular Haze” and “Year Zero.”
In 2015, the band dropped their follow-up album, Meliora. The record dominated the charts in Sweden and Finland and peaked at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard’s Top Rock and Hard Rock Albums. Meanwhile, it also entered the Billboard 200, peaking at number 8. The album featured the Grammy Award-winning song “Cirice,” which won the Best Metal Performance.
Ghost continued to receive Grammy nods for their 2018 album, Prequelle. The record was nominated for Best Rock Album, while its lead single, “Rats,” received a Best Rock Song nomination. Last year, Ghost received their fourth Grammy nomination for the song “Call Me Little Sunshine.” The single is featured in the band’s latest album, Impera. Although Ghost didn’t win the Grammy Award, they won the favorite Rock Album at the prestigious American Music Awards.
