Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga, or Banda MS, is one of Mexico’s top performers in regional music. The band specializes in Sinaloense, a type of music developed in the State of Sinaloa. In 2003, Banda MS was formed by brothers Sergio and Alberto Lizarraga in the Municipality of Mazatlan. The brothers recruited 15 more members who are acclaimed musicians in their own right. Some of these musicians have experience performing with highly-respected bands, such as La Original Banda el Limon and Banda La Costena.
One year after forming the band, Banda MS released their album, No Podras. The album received high acclaim from professional critics and fans. No Podras, featuring notable tracks like "Agárrense Federales," "A La Luz de Las Estrellas," and " Suata,” also helped Banda MS breakthrough into the mainstream scene. After the success of No Podas, the band released 16 more critically-acclaimed studio albums. In 2022, Band MS dropped their latest effort Punto y Aparte. The album contains 14 incredible tracks, including the much-beloved title track.
