This Australian rock powerhouse has forever changed the indie rock circuit. The band emerged in 2009 with the single “Sundown Syndrome.” Tame Impala explored a retro psychedelic sound reminiscent of shoegaze bands that came out in the 80s. The band then came out with their monumental debut effort, Innerspeaker. By 2012, the band had become a global sensation with their sophomore effort Lonerism. The album made its debut on the US chart, peaking at number 34. Year later, 2015’s Current was a tumultuous commercial success across the world and in the U.S., it sold a staggering one million copies while charting at number 4 on the Billboard 200. It took Tame Impala a total of five years to come out with another record. 2020’s Rush was met with even more success and topped the charts and at least entered the top 5 in numerous territories.
