David Tao rose to prominence in Taiwan during the 90s. His self-titled and self released debut album was released in 1997. The multi genre effort spawned several hits like “Airport 10.30,” “I Love You,” and “Spring Wind.” The album had several music styles from acapella to R&B and rock, demonstrating Tao’s versatility as an artist. His follow up album I’m Okay, released in 1999, was equally diverse. The album had a country influenced song, plus an R&B staple, a rock ballad, and another acapella. Tao’s rise to fame was undeniable as he received many Best New Artist nominations and won numerous awards at the Golden Melody Awards. In his more recent years, he has secured a couple of prestigious awards, including Best Song of the Year for “Marry Me Today” and Best Male Mandarin Artist.
